  • 1. INTRODUCTION 6/13 Manual No. O-QB_80-En-1A-00 This manual should be read thoroughly and under- stood completely prior to operating or servicing your rigid dump truck. Failure to do so could result in personal injury and/or damage to the machine. This manual should be considered a permanent part of your rigid dump truck and should be kept stored in the cab of the rigid dump truck at all times. Measurements in this manual are given in both metric and imperial units. Use only correct replacement parts and fasteners. Be sure to use the correct metric or imperial tools as required when replacement of a part or fastener is necessary. Right-hand and left-hand sides are determined by facing in the direction of forward travel. Product identification numbers should be recorded in the applicable locations in the rigid dump truck Machine Numbers section of the manual. Accurately record all the numbers to ensure traceability in case identification is required. These recorded numbers are required when ordering replacement parts. A second copy of the identification numbers should be retained in a secure place off the rigid dump truck. program for customers who operate and maintain their equipment as described in this manual. The warranty is explained on the warranty certificate which you should have received from your dealer. This warranty provides you with the assurance that Hitachi will back its products when defects occur with- in the warranty period. In some circumstances, Hitachi also provides field improvements, often without charge to the customer, even if the product is out of warranty. NOTE: Should the equipment be misused, abused or modified to change its performance beyond the original factory specifications, the warranty will become void and field improvements will be de- nied. Setting fuel delivery above specifications or otherwise overpowering machines will result in such action. When replacement parts are required, be sure to use only genuine Hitachi parts. Failure to do so may result in voiding the warranty and/or denial of field im- provements. Only qualified and officially licensed (according to lo- cal law) operators and service personnel should be allowed to operate or inspect/service the rigid dump truck. l contain important Safety information.
